Benton Sans Font is an advanced typeface family started by Tobias Frere-Jones in 1995 and extended by Cyrus Highsmith of Font Bureau. It was a modified form of Benton Gothic produced for different corporate clients, under Frere-Jones’ direction. As Benton Gothic, there are 7 weights from Thin to Black and just 2 widths.
The typeface started as an exclusive sort. At first titled MSL Gothic, for Martha Stewart Living magazine. The site for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. When working for a retail form of the text style. The family was given the new name called Benton Sans. In 2002-2003, Cyrus Highsmith included extra widths, weights, and italics to the typeface family. A face was discharged for open use under the name Benton Sans.
